What Are Infrared Rays?
Infrared rays are a form of light that we perceive as heat. Though we can't see them, we can feel their warmth. The sun produces most of its energy in the infrared spectrum. Infrared rays directly heat your body without needing to heat the air in-between—this process is known as conversion.
Infrared rays are divided into three segments:
- Near Infrared: 0.76-1.5 microns
- Middle Infrared: 1.5-5.6 microns
- Far Infrared: 5.6-1000 microns
Far Infrared rays penetrate deeply into the body, providing uniform heating to muscle tissues and internal organs.
Are Infrared Rays Safe?
Yes! Infrared rays are safe because they are part of sunlight. They are beneficial to our bodies on a cellular level, with many health professionals using infrared heat lamps for decades to treat muscle and joint problems. Infrared heating systems are even used in hospital incubators to keep newborns warm.
What is an Electromagnetic Field (EMF)?
An Electromagnetic Field (EMF) is a physical field produced by electrically charged objects. Our sauna products have low EMF, ranging between 5mG-10mG at 2 inches from the heater panels, with ultra-low EMF models reaching 3mG-5mG.
How Infrared Saunas Work
Infrared saunas use radiant energy to directly penetrate your body, inducing perspiration. Traditional saunas, in contrast, use steam to heat the air, which then warms your body. Infrared saunas operate at lower temperatures (up to 120°F) compared to traditional saunas (which can exceed 190°F), making the environment more comfortable and easier to breathe in.
Health Benefits
Because infrared rays deeply penetrate the body, they offer a wide range of health benefits, including:
- Pain Relief: From conditions like Rheumatoid Arthritis
- Muscle Relaxation: Helps alleviate spasms
- Cellulite Reduction
- Improved Circulation: Enhances blood flow
- Clearer Skin: Reduces rashes, acne, and improves skin tone
- Cardiovascular Health: Conditions the heart and circulatory system
- Stress & Fatigue Reduction: Relaxation benefits
- Detoxification: Removes toxins, sodium, alcohol, nicotine, heavy metals, and more
Sauna Maintenance
Infrared saunas require very little maintenance. Simply wipe down the interior with a damp, soft cloth. Avoid chemical-based cleaners, as they can be absorbed into the wood and released into the sauna during use.
